Missions & Ministries for Women

Missions & Ministries for Women Team
Earl Ann Bumpus, Director
M&M for Women is for all women, young and old alike, “Sharing Christ’s love with women through women.” It’s the combining of the rich missions heritage of Woman’s Missionary Union (learning, praying and doing) with the newer concept of Women’s Ministry (Bible study, current topics of interest and building relationships) all rolled into one! We hope each woman will find her place in M&M for Women!

“The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different kind of Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian does make me a different kind of woman.” – Elisabeth Elliot

There is also a place for preschoolers, children and youth through Mission Friends, Children in Action and Youth on Mission.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28: 18-20 KJV

Prayer Groups
We sense that God is calling our church to prayer. If you are interested in being a part of a prayer group or interested in leading a prayer group, please fill out the Prayer Groups Survey and return it to the M&M Table in the Atrium as soon as possible. You may pick up a survey at the M&M Table in the Atirum or CLICK HERE to get a copy online. There are several suggested types of groups…please pray about the type of prayer group God would lead you to be a part of.

Special Events

Scrap ‘N More

We enjoyed the recent “Crop ’till You Drop” scrapbooking overnight so much, that we want to expand the event to include other crafters as well!

Save these dates, the third Friday evenings through Saturday mornings are reserved for you to join in the fun…

Fri, Jan 20th

Bring your scrapbooking, stamping, jewelry making or any other “semi-portable” hobby or craft and join the fun to craft or just visit for any length of time!

You can come and go or stay for the entire event if you are tough enough! Watch the newsletter and website for more details as the dates draw nearer. We will continue scheduling these events as long as we have adequate participation. We hope you can attend one or all of these dates! Call or email Carol Atkins for more details and to confirm your attendance: 949-3681 or carolatkins1@suddenlink.net.

More activities to follow in July and August!
Check out “The Spot” or “On The Journey” for more information.

CWJC is a “Hand up…not a handout” program. The goal is to help women go from dependency to self-sufficiency. Each participant will have a trained Christian Mentor who will help her, encourage her, and be a friend.

Some of the topics covered include: Key Life Principals-Bible Study, Career Planning, Decision Making, Financial Planning, Self Esteem, Communication Skills, Conflict Management, Better Health, Shopping Strategies, Cooking Demo, Etiquette, Interviewing Skills, Resume Writing, Vocational Planning, Beginning Computer, Work, Excel and Power Point, Hair, Nail and Skin Care, and more!

This is a FREE program and is able to be so through the help of many volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to help in any way (Mentoring, Teaching, Prayer, Hospitality, Receptionist/Office Help or Giving) please contact the CWJC office by email or phone. We appreciate the support of the Concho Valley Baptist Association and it’s churches for the financial and leadership support they give.
