Richard & Trudie Jackson, 947-4854 The Baptism Ministry Team is responsible for ministering to individuals who are publicly testifying of their commitment to Christ through baptism. The team assists baptismal candidates in preparation for baptism (i.e., finds a suitable robe, provides assistance in the dressing room, etc.).This team periodically checks the baptismal robes,dressing rooms,and baptistry and alerts the Properties Committee regarding needed repairs and replacements.

Wendi Nikolauk, 949-6863 The Benevolence Ministry Team is charged with distributing designated benevolence funds to those in need. This team works with the church staff in order to assure proper stewardship of the designated funds.The team makes judgments regarding benevolence requests, balancing Christ’s command to help those in need while at the same time practicing responsible stewardship of God’s money.

Bus Center Ministry Team
Paul & Sue Mansfield, 486-1090 The Bus Center Ministry makes personal contact with riders of buses passing through San Angelo each week. This ministry began in April, 2006. More than 1,000 riders were “touched” during 2006 by members of the ministry with a sack snack, a religious tract in English and Spanish and the First Baptist Church card which reads, “This is our simple way of saying that God loves you.”

This team arrives at 8:00 a.m. in order to greet early arrivals. Members of the Greeting Ministry Team also escort guests to the Welcome Center for registration and placement in a Bible Study group.

The Headliners’ Ministry Team scans the local newspaper daily to find articles about life events for which people in San Angelo need congratulations, sympathy or just a word of recognition. On Thursday mornings, the team meets to send a personal note and a laminated copy of the article to each one. The gratifying reward for the Team is the many thank you letters that are received in return.

Carol Miles, 655-6458 The Homebound Ministry Team ministers to those Sunday School Members who have been transferred to the Homebound Sunday School Department. They provide monthly visits, deliver Sunday School literature and keep the church aware of specific prayer concerns for these homebound members. They meet the forth Wednesday of the month for lunch at 11:45 a.m. at First Place.

The Hospital Ministry Team ministers to First Baptist Church members in the hospital by incarnating God’s love in a tangible way. This team takes the sanctuary flowers from Sunday and divides, arranges, and delivers the flowers on Monday, reminding people of God’s care for them.

Kay Smith, 949-1266 The Hospitality Ministry Team plans for and executes the observance of special occasions, anniversaries, receptions, and other affairs of the church. They decorate for the July 4 Church Picnic, Christmas and other events as needed.

Kids Eat Ministry Team
Shirley Dobson, 656-9912 The Kids Eat Ministry Team is participating with the Texas Hunger Initiative, known as Kids Eat in Tom Green County. This ministry team is responsible for preparation, delivery and distribution of lunches for children in the Glenmore/Belaire neighborhoods during the summer when local school districts are no longer providing meals through the regular school year or summer school. This is approximately seven weeks during July and August.
Library Media Ministry Team
Ann Choate, 653-1628 This team helps manage your church library and media resources. This team will help process books and other media, check out and shelve materials, and help with numerous other tasks. Computer skills are not necessary, but someone who can operate the library computers would be especially helpful.
Literature Recycling Ministry Team
This team shares used adult Sunday School material with other churches or Bible study groups. The bulk of the work is done in the late fall when churches are contacted so the material can be furnished to them before the first of the year. Work schedule is flexible.

This team plans mission projects that encourage men to use various gifts in service to God and the world. The Men’s Ministry Team provides Bible studies, retreats, and other activities to enhance the spiritual formation of men. The team also sponsors the West Central Texas Specialty Feeding Unit for disaster relief.
One at a Time Ministry Team
Dwayne Swindle, 949-4002 The “One at a Time” Ministry Team seeks families who have need for minor physical properties’ repair. Christmas in April is used as the main source for referrals and making repairs to improve living conditions. Projects are funded by donations from members of FBC.

Joanna Sturgill, 655-4101 The Recycling Ministry Team exists to facilitate good stewardship of our church’s resources and to encourage those connected with our church to adopt attitudes and practices of stewardship in relation to God’s creation and everything in it. The team recycles soda cans, office paper and plastic.
Reaching Others Through Arts & Crafts
June Doerr, 944-7328 ROTAC (Reaching Others Through Arts and Crafts) is dedicated to bringing people together in Christian fellowship through arts and crafts. We meet on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., come and go. It is for all denominations.
ROTAC is currently comprised of jewelry making, water color, oil and pastel painting, knitting. Our craft group makes cards, books marks and other items to share with other ministries in our church and community.
ROTAC is designed as a community project, housed and supported by FBC, but not exclusive for our members. It is an outreach to any one interested in any types of arts and crafts. Through our fellowship we share our talents, learn from each other and encourage others to join the fun! Come learn something new or share with us what you already do! The Servant Evangelism Team expresses God’s love in a tangible way. This team leads the church in random acts of kindness within the community in order to demonstrate God’s love.

They personally escort them to their Sunday School Department and get acquainted with them on the way. As some of the first persons to meet guests, they warmly greet visitors and make them feel welcome.
Stitches of Love Ministry Team
Dortha Gunter, 659-1002 and Jeanne Jones, 659-1653 Stitches of Love is all about quilting! The purpose of Stitches of Love is to teach beginners the art of quilting and to provide experienced quilters a creative evening of sewing together. The team helps each person create a quilt of their own, make hand-stitched lap quilts and other handwork for nursing homes and also creates “special event” quilts for our church.

Charlie Smith, 947-4958 The Transportation Ministry Team determines the various ways the church buses can be used to best meet the needs of our membership and to reach the community for Christ. The team recruits new qualified drivers and makes sure there are always enough drivers on the list.

We hope each woman will find their place in M&M for Women! There is also a place for preschoolers, children and youth through Mission Friends, Children in Action and Youth on Mission. The High Rise Women on Mission meet the first Tuesday of the month, 10:00 a.m., second floor at the Baptist Memorial Retirement Center.
