Guest speaker, Angela Faught Dina, shared about how God prepared her and her husband, Mike, for the journey after her son, Charlie, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a pediatric cancer. Angela said that in the midst of dealing with Charlie’s illness, they discovered that only 3% of all money raised for cancer research is used for research on pediatric cancers. This discovery was a factor in the founding of the Charles M. Dina Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Research. A love offering was taken at the luncheon Saturday and an estimated $2200 was given to the foundation. Those who attended were blessed as Angela spoke from the heart, and in turn, blessed others as they gave generously to this worthy cause.
