Cindy Smith was born in North Carolina and moved to San Angelo in 1970. She was married to Trent Smith who passed away in 2010. Together they have five grown children and eighteen grandchildren. Cindy has been employed by First Baptist Church Child Development Center since June 2, 2003. She has served as a teacher, an Office Assistant, an Assistant Director, and an Interim Director before accepting the position of Director on January 16, 2012. Cindy has held her Child Development Associate degree and director’s license since 2004. She attended Angelo State University, Howard College, and National Christian University. She has served in Christian Ministry for the past 25 years and is currently a Biblical Lay Counselor at PaulAnn Baptist Church.
The First Baptist Church CDC is licensed to operate as a child care center by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. The CDC is inspected by the Tom Green County Fire Department and a gas inspection is done by the Tom Green County Health Department. A copy of the Minimum Standards for Licensed Child Care Centers is available for you to read and review in the CDC office.
